| Sizing an Aerator |
| |
| The sizing and placement of a display aerator is based upon the pond's depth
and it's surface acreage. For ponds less than 10' deep, 1hp per surface acre is
fine. For depths greater than 10', 2hp surface acre is the standard. |
| |
| To determine a pond's surface acreage, multiply its length in feet by its width
in feet, then divide that number by 44,000 feet (one surface acre). For a
circular pond, measure the diameter in feet, multiply that number with itself,
then multiply the total by .75. Divide this number by 44,000 feet. |
